Beyonce’s Coachella 2018 performance is on everyone’s lips and this is not surprising as Queen Bey came through at this year’s edition of the event held in California USA.
Not only is she the first black woman in history to headline the event she also made the world stop literally with her amazing 2-hour long performance. Coachella 2018 or #Beychella as it has now been christened will forever remain in our hearts.
As expected, Beyoncé’s set was electrifying and filled with odes to various aspects of black music, history and culture. The musical renditions, choreography and of course outfits proved that she’s truly an icon.
Queen Bey slayed in all five outfits but our favourite outfit was definitely the stunning Nefertiti inspired costume designed by Balmain’s Oliver Rousteing.
For us, the best part of her performance was the brief yet amazing tribute to Late Afrobeat Legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, as her band ran through an electrifying rendition of Fela’s 1976 classic Zombie.
Beyoncé has always stayed true to her African roots and this tribute definitely warms our hearts.
